Do you find yourself craving something salty and sweet? Ruffles Marshmallow Treats are the thing to hit that salty sweet spot.
These ruffles marshmallow treats are a simple combo of salty ridged potato chips, melted butter, and sweet chewy melted marshmallows. Simple and easy just like their cousin the rice crispy treats.
First, line an 8×8 inch baking dish with wax paper or parchment and then spray the paper with non-stick cooking spray. I like to do this so I can lift them out to cut them and the spray ensures that it won’t stick.
Now for the good stuff, you want a nice fresh bag of potato chips with ridges and crush them. You can crush them in the bag or transfer to a plastic storage bag. Just hit it a few times with a wooden spoon or rolling pin. I like big pieces so I don’t crush them up too much.
Place a bag of mini marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl along with butter. Cook for one minute and stir. Then continue to cook in 30-second increments stirring after until the butter is melted and the marshmallows are smooth.
Stir in some vanilla and then the crushed potato chips. Fold and stir until all the chips are coated. Then pour into the prepared baking dish. Use another sheet of wax paper sprayed with non-stick spray to lightly press the treats down into the pan. Let them cool and harden before slicing. I like to take this opportunity to taste test any pieces left in the bowl. Quality Control is important. At least that’s what I tell myself.
I added a drizzle of chocolate and some sprinkles because…well just because. Once the chocolate has hardened, lift the treats from the tray using the wax paper lining. Cut them up however you want, squares, triangles, or use some cookie cutters and enjoy! Now go get your salty, sweet treat on with these ruffles marshmallow treats!
